MeX Theater

Boyd Martin Experimental Theater, The Kentucky Center

A space as unique and versatile as the imaginative artists who perform upon its stage, the MeX is a simple "black box" with a maximum seating capacity of 139. Named in honor of long-time theatre and film critic of the Courier-Journal Boyd Martin, the theater was dedicated in 1988. Since then, it has become a favorite venue for local arts and theater groups, providing a blank slate for original plays, innovative productions of the classics, music, dance and literary readings.

The Boyd Martin Experimental Theater is a true gem of The Kentucky Center. It is a non-union house, has an ample technical inventory and a fee schedule that includes such theater services as ticketing (not included in the rental fee) and house management.
