Since 1983, when The Kentucky Center first raised the curtain on world-caliber performing arts in Kentucky, Kentucky Center Presents has offered Kentucky audiences a staggering roster of artists, thinkers, personalities, and world leaders.
Students at Louisville’s Youth Performing Arts School (YPAS) participate in a master class led by Diavolo dance troupe.
More than just presenting shows on our stages, however, the Center takes pride in bringing these artists, as well as acclaimed regional and local performers, out into the community for dynamic performances, presentations and master classes. These community appearances include:
- joining with schools and universities to make artists available to students on campus for classes or interactive lectures,
- working with hospitals and senior living centers to bring artists to healing environments for performances or workshops,
- collaborating with local festivals, like IdeaFestival and Worldfest, to bring in artists for extended stays, allowing them to appear and perform throughout the community
Through innovative outreach opportunities like these, The Kentucky Center vigorously pursues its non-profit mission to let the arts burst into life throughout the Commonwealth. Our artists are able to engage with the community and Kentucky audiences continue to enjoy the greatest performing artists the nation and the world have to offer.

“The Kentucky Center master class conducted by the Trey McIntyre company members gave us a taste of professional choreography. We were inspired by the dancers’ technique and passion. They opened our minds…and our hip joints!” – Ballet and Modern Dance students, Louisville Youth Performing Arts School
