Dr. Siddhartha Mukherjee – interviewed by David T. Scadden, M.D.
Dr. Siddhartha Mukherjee is a Cancer physician and researcher. His book, The Emperor of All Maladies: a Biography of Cancer was the winner of the 2011 Pulitzer Prize for Non- Fiction. It could not be more timely nor essential reading. Mukherjee approaches this crucial subject with the passion and fixation of a biographer and the story-telling skill of a novelist, seamlessly weaving significant moments in cultural history into the story of his own coming of age as a physician—with special focus on his thoughtful and compassionate consideration of his patients as they soldier through battle with this relentless disease.
David Scadden is a practicing hematologist/oncologist who founded and directs the Center for Regenerative Medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital and co-founded and co-directs the Harvard Stem Cell Institute and the Harvard University Department of Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology. Dr. Scadden is advancing the fight against cancer as a physician, scientist, and nationally recognized leader in the field.
