Rosanne Cash – Interviewed by Nick Spitzer

Grammy-winner Rosanne Cash has recorded fourteen albums, charting twenty-one Top-40 country singles and two gold records. For more than three decades she has been one of the most compelling figures in popular music, having moved gracefully from Nashville stardom to critical recognition as a singer-songwriter and author of essays and short stories.

Composed: a Memoir is a self-portrait written with intelligence, honesty, warmth and wit; in it, Rosanne Cash shares her memories of growing up as Johnny Cash’s eldest child and coming into her own as a performer, daughter and mother.
 

Nick Spitzer is the producer and host of public radio's American Routes. Spitzer is a folklorist and a professor of Anthropology and American Studies at Tulane University, specializing in American music and the cultures of the Gulf South. American Routes, which is distributed by American Public Media, reaches nearly a million listeners each week on over 225 stations.
