Louisville Leopard Percussionists present
Big Gig 2019

The Big Gig concert is the largest fundraiser for the Louisville Leopard Percussionists, a non-profit children’s percussion ensemble. The event takes place annually at the W.L. Lyons Brown Theatre, 315 W. Broadway in Louisville, Kentucky.

The Louisville Leopard Percussionists are a non-profit community based performing ensemble comprised of more than 60+ student musicians, ages 7-14, who reside in 26 different Louisville zip codes and attend 48 different schools in and around Louisville, Kentucky. This family friendly concert gives audience members one of their only chances to see the YouTube sensation in action, performing their impressive repertoire that covers everything from jazz to big band to pop.

The Louisville Leopard Percussionists have garnered critical acclaim for their viral YouTube video which reached 9 million people across various platforms and media attention from ABC7 News Chicago, The Huffington Post, Buzzfeed, VH1, Today Show, BBC One and Time Magazine  as well as social media attention from Jimmy Page, Ozzy Osbourne, Ellen Degeneres, & Questlove. The group was also the subject of the HBO documentary The Leopards Take Manhattan: The Little Band that Roared  and were featured performing their arrangement of Crazy Train for Ozzy Osbourne in Season 2 of his national TV show Ozzy & Jack’s World Detour.

The Leopards have been invited to perform around the country with the likes of Louie Bellson, Joe Morello, and Ndugu Chancler, who performed on Michael Jackson's Thriller  album. The Louisville Magazine  Bucket List places the Louisville Leopards as #8 on its master list of things you must do in Louisville before you die!
