Kentucky, USA with host Ben Sollee
Musical guests Jonathan Scales and Zlynn Harris

Welcome to KENTUCKY, USA – a friendly place to swap stories, indulge in gossip, and hear music your friends would have told you about if they weren’t on their phones all the time.

Musician and host Ben Sollee has teamed up with The Kentucky Center to launch this new radio show featuring talent from around Kentucky and further South, in front of a LIVE AUDIENCE.

Expect big laughs with an onstage cast including Greg and Abigail Maupin, Brigid Kaelin, and Tara Anderson, supported by live foley from beatboxing champion, Rayul.

Kentucky native Ben Sollee cut his teeth performing as part of the onstage cast of the Woodsongs Old Time Radio Hour. He has since toured the world. From Lhasa, Tibet to Lawrence, Kansas, Ben continues to share the beauty, humor, and struggles of his home state. As a composer, Sollee has created music for stage, screen, and virtual reality, earning an Emmy Award for his 2018 score Base Ballet. As a producer, he has curated hundreds of live events, including experiences for the Speed Art Museum and Lincoln Center.

November Musical Guests:

Master percussionist and composer Jonathan Scales,, is one of the most innovative steel pannists on the planet, redefining traditional expectations of his signature instrument. His stunning, virtuoso technique radically expands the sonic palette of an instrument most often associated with cruise ships and tropical resorts. Jonathan will be joined in performance by his band, Fourchestra.

Zlynn Harris is a 20 yr old rising jazz-blues-soul artist hailing from Louisville Ky. She began singing, writing songs, and playing acoustic guitar and piano at age 14.  Zlynn graces the stage with her angelic voice, high energy, pure soul, and charismatic personality - leaving audiences wanting more.
