Prep Workshop Registration
Please review the following information before committing to a GSA Prep Workshop
GSA Workshops are open to any Kentucky student in grades 9-11.
Who should attend?
If a student already has access to a variety of mentors/teachers who can provide feedback on audition/portfolio materials, we ask that they consider attending just the info session and leave an additional spot open in the workshop.
The person teaching the workshop may or may not be on GSA Faculty. These workshops are intended to provide basic feedback on your materials; while this can certainly help an applicant refine the materials they submit in their application, these workshops do not guarantee that a student will have a better chance of being accepted into GSA.
Not all workshop sites will offer classes in all of GSA's art forms.
Students must pre-register in order to attend. There is a registration fee of $10.00
to supplement the overall cost of the Prep Workshop. Students who qualify for free and reduced lunch may opt out of the registration fee. Payment options are located at the end of this form. If you select to pay online you must complete the payment before your registration will be submitted.
Students must bring their own lunch to workshop.
*Please note that there is no additional registration fee or process necessary for parents of an interested student to attend.
If you do not receive email confirmation after completing this form, please check your spam or junk folders. To ensure accurate delivery add email@example.com
to your Safe Sender list. If you do not receive a confirmation email, your registration did not go through. Please try resubmitting.

Bring your ideas, 1-2 writing samples, pencil and paper for an information-packed writing workshop. Samples should be intended for inclusion in your Creative Writing manuscript for the Preliminary Round Application.
You will participate in a ballet/modern/composition dance master class with a focus on requirements for the Preliminary Round application. Please wear appropriate dance attire (leotard and tights for ladies, t-shirt and tights for men) and secure your hair away from your face. If you do not have a leotard, please wear clothing that is not too baggy and allows you to move! Bring ballet shoes if you have them, although bare feet are preferred for modern dance. Don’t forget to bring a water bottle with you.

Bring your instrument and a solo piece you're preparing for the Preliminary Round application. You will participate in a workshop with other instrumentalists, play your solos for each other and have ample opportunity to ask questions. Please also be prepared to play scales. Pianos are the only instruments that will be provided at the workshop. Large percussionist instruments (marimbas, timpani, drum sets) may be provided only if the workshop site agrees to allow GSA the use of the instruments and if the student notifies the GSA administration in advance of the workshop.
